About the Role

This is a Summer Full time ( 40 hours ) position starting on June 3rd of 2024 and ending on the 9th of August, applicants will be required to have stable housing conditions before starting the summer tennis and fitness camp. Applicants will also get a chance to watch the Western&Southern Open, one of the 9 1000 masters events. tickets will be given to summer professionals based on availability. ICTP Summer Professionals will have a great opportunity to learn from a well-educated PTR Certified Staff who have been teaching children tennis for more than 35 years.

Requirements

  • Must follow the mission and the guidelines of the Inner City Tennis Project

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner

  • Must have an experience as a competing tennis player

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be an educator and a role model to children when it comes to social behavior.

  • must be resilient and able to take constructive criticism.

  • Must know about the game of tennis and the rules of tennis.

  • Previous experience in Coaching Tennis is preferred.

  • Must be willing to take a USTA safe-play course before hiring.

  • Must speak English.

  • must be comfortable working with inner-city children alongside other racial minority groups.

  • Able to think critically and solve problems efficiently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to respect staff and employees of the ICTP.

  • Must have a stable living condition before hiring.

  • pay will range based on experience and certification.

  • Minimum 4.0 player ability and/or collegiate player required

  • Ability to walk or stand for a minimum of one hour without sitting

  • Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 45 pounds

  • Ability to demonstrate tennis stroke production and technique

  • CPR / AED certification is required prior to hire.

About the Company

The Inner City Tennis Project was established in 1986 to provide an affordable tennis experience to children in Greater Cincinnati, with an emphasis on increasing the participation of inner-city youth. ICTP offers a program that seeks to provide quality instruction along with a nurturing social environment, which will assist children to achieve personal goals both in the sport of tennis and in life. Over sixty participants have received scholarships to Division I and Division II colleges throughout the United States.
