Jason StuckeyPresident

Jason Stuckey is currently an Education Attorney with the law firm of Bricker and Eckler in Cincinnati, OH. Jason received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Johnson C. Smith University in 2010, where he was the valedictorian of his graduating class.

 

Jason received his law degree from Indiana University School of Law in 2013. Jason was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where he has involved in the Inner City Tennis Project a player. Jason traveled with ICTP to tournaments and workshops throughout the Midwest. Jason achieved a top 50 Midwest ranking and finished 4th in the OHSAA state doubles championships in 2006. Jason played four years of college tennis at Johnson C. Smith University where he was team captain for three years as well as the #1 singles player. Jason was also a four-time all-conference selection while at Smith.

 

Jason continued to play tennis on the club tennis team during his time in law school at IU. Jason still enjoys playing competitive tennis today.

Courtney Burns - Board Member

Courtney holds a BS in Agribusiness from Florida A&M University and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan Courtney fell in love with tennis at the age of 5 in his hometown of Chicago, IL.

​

After getting exposed to the sport through a similar Inner City Program in Chicago’s south side. As a former tennis instructor and college player, Courtney understands the opportunities that tennis can provide for kids. He has a passion for giving back to the next generation of inner-city tennis players to help them reach both their athletic and academic potential.

 

Courtney joined the ICTP Board in 2017. He has an extensive background in both brand management and consulting from private sector experiences at both Accenture Management Consulting and Procter & Gamble.

Aliya Riddle - Board Member

Aliya is currently an Associate Investment Advisor at Bartlett Wealth Management. She grew up in Cincinnati, playing tennis here and there with her brother, but ended up dedicating her time in high school to varsity volleyball. Aliya graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree, majoring in Finance. She obtained her Chartered Financial Analyst designation and focuses on investment management for foundations, endowments and other non-profit organizations.

Aliya has a passion for serving the community in a number of different ways.  Coming full circle from her days as a participant of the Inner City Tennis Project as a child, Aliya joined the ICTP board in 2019. She continues to play tennis and enjoys competitive league play through the Greater Cincinnati Indoor Tennis Association. 

Christina Kander - Board Member

Christina Kander grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where she began playing tennis at a very young age. She played many sports as a child, but tennis became her passion in high school. In addition to tennis, Christina was a committed student continuing her education at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Throughout her undergraduate Christina continued to play tennis with the university club team. Following her undergraduate she was driven to complete a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health at San Diego State University.

 

Currently, Christina is a Research Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is working toward her PhD in Occupational Safety & Health at the University of Cincinnati. Christina’s research is revolved around understanding the occupational exposures to structural firefighters nationwide. 

 

After moving back to Cincinnati in 2017, Christina began playing competitive tennis again through the Greater Cincinnati Indoor Tennis Association, where she met others involved with the Inner City Tennis Program. Christina joined the board in 2020. Over the years, Christina has taught tennis to young children in both Cincinnati and Cleveland. Christina not only enjoys, but is grateful for, the opportunity to combine her love for playing tennis and serving the inner city tennis community.

Joan Pipkins

I have been affiliated with the ICTP since 1988.  My children, Amber and Greg, were students of the program from elementary through high school.  Greg worked during the summer program.  After Amber graduated from Florida A&M University, she returned home and later joined the Board.  Then inevitable happened; Amber invited me to join the Board.  I have been a Board member since 2014.  

JoAnn Philips

JoAnn Phillips has advanced the mission of the Inner City Tennis Project (ICTP) for 25 years, most recently serving as a Board member for the past 9 years. In 2011, JoAnn was honored as the ICTP Founder’s Award recipient. During her years of volunteer service, she participated as a stretching, physical conditioning, weight training, and drills instructor.

JoAnn competed in Senior Olympic tennis competitions at the national, state, and local levels. Additionally, she played in adult leagues and enjoyed social tennis.

​

JoAnn’s love for tennis began in college. She graduated from Ohio State University (Columbus, OH), earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy.  During her 31-year career with the Cincinnati Public Schools, she taught the hearing impaired and was a pre-school specialist.

James D.  Houston 

James D. Houston is currently a Construction Litigation, Complex Business Litigation, Employment & Labor Litigation Attorney with Ulmer & Berne, LLP. Jamie’s trial experience includes first-chair representation of contractors, design professionals, employers and sureties in both arbitration and traditional trial court settings (including actions for emergency injunctive relief). He has also successfully defended employers against various wrongful death, OSHA and discrimination claim. He has drafted and successfully argued appellate briefs before various courts, including the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, various Ohio District Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Ohio.
