Dress Code

Children must dress for physical activity.

The appropriate attire includes:

  • Gym shoes only. No hard- sole shoes or sandals.

  • SOCKS MUST BE WORN.  The courts get hot & feet burn.

  • Comfortable shorts, mid-thigh or below.  Denim jeans             should NOT be worn as they are too hot for activities and restrict free movement.

  • Girls:  No halter tops, tights, or bare midriffs.

  • Boys:  Shorts worn at the waist; no underwear showing.

Caps or visors should be worn. Sunscreen SPF 25 or more (depending on skin sensitivity) should be worn and brought with them

Equipment and supplies

AN INSULATED WATER BOTTLE IS REQUIRED.

We recommend at least a half-gallon bottle.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND SMALL, THROW-AWAY WATER BOTTLES.  That is not enough water for a child engaged in hot weather activities.

Children in Full Day Camp must bring a hearty lunch PLUS a small snack.  Half Day Campers should bring a snack.  A refrigerator is available for cold foods on a limited basis.

Tennis rackets and balls are provided for use in the program.  If you prefer to buy a racket for your child, please discuss the proper size with us.

Children may NOT bring electronic games.  we request that NO CELL PHONES be brought, however, if parents insist, you may send a cell phone.  WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS.

Important Information

Rain Day Instructions

Our Rain Out Location is Dohn Community High School, 608 E. McMillan Street, Cinti. OH 45206.  In the event of rain or questionable weather, please call either 638-5363 or 503-9930 to determine where to take your child for the program.  If the rain stops, we may return to the Triangle Courts.  You may call those same numbers to determine where to pick up your child.

SWIMMING

Swimming will be scheduled at Evanston Recreation Center Pool.  A swim schedule and fees will be provided to you when your child is enrolled.  On swim day your child must dress for tennis and bring swim suit and a towel (old one) in a plastic bag.  Flip flops are needed as children do not take their gym shoes to the pool.  We have tennis activities before and after swimming.

COMMUNICATION

The directors and staff of the Inner City Tennis Project want this to be a positive, fun experience for your child.  If there is a problem of any kind at the camp, please let us know as soon as possible.  Encourage your child to speak to us immediately so that problems can be resolved quickly.  Lt. Carpenter, Mr. Pack, and Mrs. Fair will be happy to address your concerns.
